The Suffolk County Police Department received a call from a concerned Bay Shore resident on Monday, June 21, where there was a report of ducklings in distress.

Police said that upon arrival at the scene, Third Precinct Police Officer Todd Rigney located the ducklings, who were in a distressed state in a fast-moving creek on East Main Street on Bay Shore.

Rigney was able to utilize a crab net to scoop out 11 ducklings, who were all reunited with their relieved mother - who stayed vigilant and in the creek the whole time watching the rescue -without incident.
